The company: Working exclusively with Appreciating Payroll, our client is a high-profile, multi-faceted Sydney CBD-based organization that has influenced the lives of millions since its conception over 60 years ago. They have recently undertaken a large-scale transformation drive across all back office functions, including Payroll, Finance, Technology, and HR. Due to multiple active Payroll projects, we are seeking a Payroll Remediation Validation specialist to join the team on a contract basis for approximately 9 months at this stage.
The role: Reporting to the Head of Payroll, as Payroll Remediation Validation specialist you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of Payroll data for the wage remediation program. This involves meticulously validating wage remediation outcomes, overseeing the accurate and complete collection of timesheets, payroll, and other business data, and collaborating with external consultants and internal stakeholders (C-Level to junior levels) on highly complex and detailed employee entitlement matters.
Responsibilities include: - Delivering the payroll validation phase in a remediation process, ensuring it aligns with legal standards
- Coordinating with external consultants, HR, finance, and legal teams to ensure a cohesive approach
- Supporting the Payroll Manager in the identification and solving of complex employee entitlement matters identified during payroll validation
- Liaising with Auditors as required for compliance audit reviews, on an ongoing basis
- Identification and problem-solving in a collaborative team environment on enterprise agreement matters, business practices, and other complex employee entitlement matters
- Ensuring accurate remediation calculations are delivered via a complex multilayered model
- Supporting highly sensitive employee concerns and queries throughout the remediation process
About the candidate: You are an experienced Payroll professional with strong experience of interpreting multiple awards and adhering to payroll legislation. You have had previous experience analyzing and auditing existing award interpretations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Ideally, you have worked through a remediation project and understand the sensitivity of your output. You can also display:
- Demonstrated extensive experience in employee and payroll-related legislation and compliance
- Demonstrated capacity to develop policies and procedures related to employee entitlements
- Demonstrated capacity to articulate complex and specialist matters in a clear and concise manner
- A demonstrated high level of understanding of equal opportunity principles and a commitment to the application of EEO policies in a business context
This opportunity is expected to last for approximately 9 months, however, there is a chance that the contract will be extended beyond this period. Depending on your previous levels of experience, an equivalent salary between $120k - $180k package is on offer, either on a fixed-term contract basis or on a daily basis via your own ABN, along with flexible WFH options (2/3 days office-based). PLEASE NOTE these roles are not offered for remote/ inter-state/ overseas candidates.
